Pacific Northwest Road Trip Part 4

February 11, 2011

Daily Post, Robert Forto

On Sunday morning Michele and I conducted a business meeting and got our year end affairs in order for our businesses. This was another reason for this trip— we couldn’t work all the time could we??? As they say:

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

At 1 pm we hosted our radio program, The Dog Works Radio Show, live from Seattle, Washington (well, Fife, but close enough) with a great guest, Charmaine Hammond, calling in from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada about her new book: On Toby’s Terms. The book is about a dog she rescued who had a severe case of separation anxiety, gave him a job as a therapy dog and now the book is soon to be a motion picture!

As soon as the show was over we jumped into the car and headed to the casino to catch the game.

We were led into an event center with a huge 100 foot TV screen and a couple 25 footer’s flanking the sides. The place was packed! The food was good– 10 bucks got you a burger, a chili dog and a heaping plate of chicken wings.

Super Bowl on a 100 foot screen!

We watched the game with hundreds of fans and Michele and I both remarked: ‘This is the way to watch the Super Bowl.’

After the game we headed back to Fife and decided to stop at a local landmark, The Poodle Dog cafe. It has been in business since 1933 and they served us the biggest Strawberry Shortcake that I have ever seen. Neither one of us could finish it so we got a doggie bag for our dessert.

We are dog trainers by the way, how could we not have stopped off at the Poodle Dog cafe?

More to come…
