Talladega Nights: KFC, Prayer, and Spider Monkeys

Daily Post, Pop Culture

Sitting up here alone in Alaska late at night I have become a huge fan of Netflix. How could anyone not think that the DVD by mail service wasn’t the coolest thing in the world? Well, apart from the Redboxes.

Just how cool is that? You go to McDonalds (or other outlets) choose a movie, pay a buck and can return any time or anywhere you want! I once rented a movie in Denver and returned it to a Redbox in California.

Who cares if the movies are delivered to Netflix and Redbox 28 days later than Pay Per View. But you also pay five bucks or more for those instant movies. I have been a sataleite T.V. customer for years and I have never rented a pay per view movie.

I digress….

Last night I watched one of the funniest movies of all time:

Talladega Nights

Heck, I am not even a NASCAR fan but I absoultely love this movie.

One of the funniest scenes has to be the dinner scene where the Bobby family feasts on Taco Bell, Dominos Pizza and KFC Chicken.

Check it out. Even if you have seen this a 1000 times, it will sure make you laugh!

Also check this out:

Reese Bobby: [walks into the classroom] Excuse me, darling. I’m Reese Bobby. I’m here for career day with my son, Ricky.
10-year-old Ricky: Dad!
Reese Bobby: Hey there, boy! Man, you got big. How long’s it been? Three, four months?
10-year-old Ricky: Ten years.
Reese Bobby: Ten years? Man, I gotta lay off the peyote.
[puts a cigarette in his mouth]
Schoolteacher: Mr. Bobby, there’s no smoking in here.

Reese Bobby: Oh, it’s all right, darling, I’m a volunteer fireman. Okay, I am a semi-professional racecar driver and an amateur tattoo artist.

Classmates: OOO0HHHH!
Reese Bobby: And the first thing you gotta learn if you’re gonna be a racecar driver, is that you don’t listen to losers like your know-it-all teacher here.
Schoolteacher: Okay, I think that’s enough.
Reese Bobby: Your teacher wants you to go slow, and she’s wrong because it’s the fastest who get paid and it’s the fastest who get laid.
[classmates all cheer]
