LIVE from the North Pole: This is just in from Santa, a travel report from this year’s Christmas.

“It’s not physics; it’s magic” says Santa Claus.

650 miles per second– Approximate speed Santa travelled to serve each household with an eagerly awaiting child.

2,950.7 tons–Weight Santa would gain if he consumed one cookie and an 8-ounce glass of milk at each home. That’s why he usually only takes a nibble and a sip, boys and girls!

321,000 tons–Estimated weight of Santa’s sleigh assuming two pounds of toys per child.

214,200–Reindeer would need to pull that load assuming aerial reindeer can pull ten times a normal reindeer load. That’s why he makes a lot of pit stops!

17,500–G forces inflicted on Santa as he sled accelerated to 650 miles per second.

14.3 quintillion–Estimated energy, in joules, absorbed by the lead reindeer on Santa’s sleigh. We all know that is Rudolph!

0.0042–Estimated times it takes Santa and sleigh to vaporize from friction during acceleration.
