Training run on the Solstice

June 22, 2011

Alaska, Daily Post

On the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, some people dance around a bonfire with bones in their hair. Some jump into a frozen ocean at the top the world. Others worship the Sun God.

I took the sled dog team out for a quick summer training run.

It was a great run with temperatures in the low forties and overcast. Perfect conditions for a quick 3 miles.
